A Bonus to Bargain Shopping October 18, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — Alison @ 9:30 PM

The next two weeks are incredibly busy for us, with two birthday parties, two harvest parties, and meetings galore.  Because of the stocking up I’ve been doing in my shopping lately I’m going to avoid a big shopping trip this week, and possibly next week as well.

Here’s my menu plan for the week:

  • Monday – BLT’s
  • Tuesday – Caribbean Fajitas, black beans, & rice
  • Wednesday – Burgers, fries
  • Thursday – Hamburger Stroganoff, salad
  • Friday – Sleepover!

All we’ll need to buy is milk, bacon, tortillas, sour cream, a cucumber, a mango, and a can of mushroom soup.  I went over my weekly budget last week ($60) so our budget really needs this week off!

How do you feel about skipping a week of shopping?  Do you shop even if you don’t need to just to get the deals?  Or are you okay with just getting what you need?

I think that there is nothing wrong with skipping a week. That’s why we have these items stocked up isn’t it? So we can take a break for our budget, or our sanity, or our health every once in a while. I love a good deal and try for them often but even that can be too much of a good thing sometimes.
