Making The Most of It

About Us October 9, 2009

Four Girls.  Four Families.  Four Journeys.

We’re all trying to make the most of what God has given us, by being wise with our money, doing what we can to protect our earth, and taking care of our families.

Alison:  I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, but I’m a Vermont girl at heart.  I just celebrated my first anniversary married to the best husband a girl could ask for (but I’m sure the other girls would argue that point).  I am learning every day how to be a better stepmother to two beautiful little girls.  I love looking for deals, and I love to cook and bake for my family.  I hope someday this frugal lifestyle will pay off and I can stay home to take care of my family full time.

Kayla:  I live in Northern Michigan where it snows 8 months out of the year.  I have been married to my best friend for going on 7 years.  We have three young children together, all 5 and under–one boy and 2 girls.  We also host a zoo here, which includes one mentally challenged Shetland Sheep Dog,  2 cats who were seemingly deprived of  oxygen at birth, and an immortal beta fish named Bob.   I am not the most domesticated woman out there–and I have even been a stay-at-home-mom  for 5 and a half years!  And cereal is preferred to my cooking in this house.  But I love to find great deals–I almost get a high from scoring big and paying little.  And I LOVE to share my finds!  My goal in saving big is to have more money available to pay off our debt so that we can have financial freedom.

Kimberly:  I reside in the Green Mountain State, also known as Vermont.  I’m a military wife and the mother to a 10-year-old boy, a 7-year-old boy, and two fur kids (aka the cats).  My primary job is taking care of them and our home, my husband likes to call me a Household Executive.  I also work from my home doing part-time childcare and some freelance writing.  I love shopping and always have but it wasn’t until the beginning of 2009 that I became interested  in cutting coupons, tracking sales, and other bargain hunting methods. I quickly found out how addicting and beneficial it can be when you shop for the best deals!  I hope I can inspire other shop-a-holics to do the same!

Sarah: I live in a quaint little town in Central Pennsylvania with my wonderful husband of three years and our only child, Shalom.  Someday, we hope to have “real” children, but for now the four legged Jack Russel-type is filling the gap.   I am a full time employee and a part time couponer (both end up paying about the same!). My stores of choice are CVS and Kmart (mostly during double coupon weeks).  I’m also learning to “deal” with Target and Walmart.   I get a rush from getting the best thing possible and especially love it when I know I bought things for FREE! I’m a deal hunter, and am also trying to figure out how to get a deal for something new. Can’t wait to pass on the savings to anyone who passes by!
